I wish he could give my friend Hocker an adjustment like that. Hocker was injured at work when he fell in a brush machine. It would also cheer Hocker up and make his day if Shannon was there and sat on his face for awhile.

Ah, promoting fear …
Ah, promoting fear of medical care, the ultimate chiro tactic!
There is no good evidence to say that chiropractic is very safe, particularly with cervical manipulations, which have been linked with vertebral artery dissections and stroke. This is because cerebrovascular accidents often occur days – weeks after the adjustment, thus the injury cannot be traced back to its source – the chiropractor.
Much more research needs to be done before you can say that chiropractic adjustments are safe.

improper cracking …
improper cracking of your neck and spine can be bad, its best to let the chiropractor do that. Popping your knuckles wont hurt anything, it doesnt cause arthritis. If you do it alot they can become inflamed but if you stop for a few days it will go away.

Thats true, we do …
Thats true, we do not have the residency programs that medical schools require. We have 1 year of hands on clinical experience with real patients with real problems overseen by clinicians.
However, if you compare the curriculums side by side you will see that we take a majority of the same classes during the 1st 4 years.. We have the competency to properly diagnose diseases otherwise we would be sued for failure to diagnose on a daily basis. My malpractice insurance is ~2000/year, whats yours?

I’m aware that …
I’m aware that there is roughly 4 years of education (unless you do a joint program with your undergrad) required to become a chiropractor. But the claim that you cover many of the same courses as a medical student is a gross exaggeration. The differences in expertise are greater than just pharmacology. Also, chiropractors are not required to complete an additional 4 year residency program.
So medical students go through at least 8 years of school while chiropractors only go through a quick 4.
