In other words it’s posture that is the cause not the effect

Herniated bulging discs are caused by not enough lordosis and too much flexion (which is invovled in many Yoga postures). Poor sitting posture and lifting habits are the main cause of injury because the lumbar area is too rounded. It overstreteches the posterior vertebral ligament which is a direct cause of disc herniation. Muscles have very little to do with lower back problems. Whether you have lumbar? problems or not has quite little to do with your stage of “abdominal development”

Wow I think that’s my problem, underdeveloped abs! My spine really arches in at the lower back and it’s sometimes uncomfortable, so does that mean I should be doing lower ab excersizes because the problem is my lower back? And then eventually my back will straighten out a bit and the discomfort will go away???

I’ve been struggling with my right hip and L5. I’ve focused on cat cow, threading needle and up/down dog with sun salutations- there are other poses from my class, but I honestly forget the names :p
I’ve gained massive flexibility, but from time to time, my right hip still feels out of place. When I’m on my back and I focus on flattening my lower back my right hip always feels a little more pitched into the floor.
It would be nice to see some more specific corrective hip poses.
