I had this surgery 4 days ago and can’t recommend it enough. I had five months of near constant pain and hours after the surgery I was walking around the hospital pain free. The 2nd and 3rd days were more sore, but that was surgery related and I knew it would go away. The nerve pain was gone. My surgeon tells me I’ll be playing hockey again in 4-6 weeks, and I can hardly wait.

i had this done and let me tell ya i was very very nervous. but a year of pain was pretty bad to. In the end it was way worth it. i went to 6 months of pt which did nothing and this was easy. the first week is pretty hard after but the pain killer s really help. id do it again and recommend it.

Is there no way to remove the disk without cutting away half the vertebra?

@TableTennisDaily if you don’t check it out, it will eventually lead to it. I use to be like that an continued working, later on I found out that this was what I had. You should get an MRI done to find out. The sooner the better it is to deal with it.

No, it’s not. It could be a circulatory problem in your legs. Lack of blood flow can also cause numbness. you should see your doctor about this.
