I’ve recently been diagnosed with lyme disease, and it’s been pretty brutal. I’ve been given antibiotics to handle the infection itself, but my insurance won’t cover medication to deal with the arthritis that’s developed as a symptom. It hurts too much to walk, sit up straight, move my left arm or even turn my neck. Does anyone here have suggestions for dealing with nasty joint pain like this? I’m only 18 and start school soon.

I am new to this Lyme stuff too but I bought a book that says to take buffered vitamin c powder, which you mix one tsp full in a glass of water and drink. I have done that twice a day for two weeks and I have had some relief. I am not sure how my doctor feels about it but I will see him tomorrow and I will update!
Good Luck!

The antibiotics will help, but it will take a while. If you have arthritis caused by the Lyme, you have probably had it for a while. Your insurance should cover some kind of anti-inflammatory. I take celebrex, not cheap, and when that doesn’t work , I go to something harsh, like indocin. Aleve works pretty good for inflammation(ask your Dr if you can take 2). Ice works for specific areas.

I sincerely advise you take 4Life Transfer Factor Plus capsules. It is not a drug but a food supplement which balances your immunity. It has been found to be useful in dealing with many medical conditions including Arthritis. Search on the net to find a Distributor (use key words “4Life”, “Transfer Factor”

Try Glucosamine and Chondroitin, you can find it at any heath food store, Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Vitamin Shoppe, GNC etc.; any where they sell health products. Don’t get one or the other as some doctors may suggest, they work together. Glucosamine is the most popular one but the Chondroitin is the true hero. But they need to work together like Batman and Robin. So make sure you get the combo. I’ve been using it for 13years even before it was popular and it did miracles for me. Give it about two weeks of using it religiously to see real results. (and don’t get any cheap fancy brands with with corny names and a laundry list of fake ingredients and fillers).
