I have an almost constant low back pain that I think have incurred from doing some ab workouts the wrong way. I am a pretty active young male who goes to the gym often. Is there a few good stretches that I can do to warm up before lifting weights that will help me get rid of this pain?
You should take a yoga class, it did wonders for my back. I have no pain at all now.

You should ask your doctor. They will give you a few to try with your specific pain, and a few stretches to try at home.

Like the girl above said, yoga is probably really good. For me personally, I am pretty tall and have had lower back pain since I was young. I started doing squats, and I have had very few problems since. Squats help bulild the muscle in your lower back. It hurt at first, but just fight through the pain. Also, anything that works the abs and core is good for the lower back. You are going to experience pain along the way, but it will eventually subside.

lay on flor and lift straight legs up for few seconds at a time.
keep your back flat on floor.
work your way up to 60 seconds over a month.
this will enable you to do situps regularly which will strengthen your back.

I would check with your doctor before you did anything new. You may have a degenerative disk – the wrong exercise could aggrevate it and produce futher damage. To help alleviate the pain from a degenerative disk, working abs is recommended. If you’re looking to exercise without inflicting further pain, try swimming.

This is a very common problem with folks who spend too much time sitting in front of a computer or are not active enough. I suggest for you to take breaks so you don’t spend too much time sitting and watch your POSTURE when you sit and walk. Get one of those fitness balls and sit on it and compare your posture with your typical one. Increase your physical activity and don’t do much lifting as you will make it worse. Run, walk and DO FLEXIBILITY EXCERCISES. Yoga is a good way to start. Don’t want to go to classes, log into youtube and you will see lots of yoga excercises. Don’t recomment weight training at this point.
