This is a …
This is a reasonable stretch but if someone has serious sciatica any forward bending at all like this can cause excruciating pain also and may be the worst thing. If indeed it is serious then it is more likely to be impossible to do anyway, depending on how the nerve compression is activated.
Sometimes there is little or nothing that can be done and many months are required to allow the damaged area to metabolise (or surgery etc)
These stretches are good for prevention. Everyone should do them

Just wanted to say …
Just wanted to say thanks for the great stretches video. I tried last night and this morning. It has really eased the pressure running down my leg. I think clarkus is right about keeping positive and seeking medical advice, but with small stretches like this, you are hardly going to do any damage to your body. Thanks once again.

Everyones Sciatica …
Everyones Sciatica is different. Your best bet is to stay positive, think that it will be continue todo exercise, stretching and see a physio etc. Often stress and emotion play a big part in healing, and like all of us searching google or youtube for answers will more often and not make matters worse. Its a good place to find info and stretches, but always seek medical advice and support. Ta.

Thank you so much for these tips…I did a few rounds of this stretching, and I can actually stand up from a sitting or prone position now without feeling like I’m about to collapse from pain. I’m comfortable for the first time in two days. Thank you so very much!
