I started having sciatica pain the last couple of days, last night I couldn’t even walk on my right leg, the pain starts in my lower back, down my right buttock, then down my leg….I have a hard time sleeping as well. Is there anything I can do or take to relieve this pain? I’m 18 weeks pregnant.
Ask your doctor if it’s ok to get a prenatal massage. This really helped me when I was in the same situation. Also my doctor told me to do light stretching throughout the day and to drink plenty of fluids. And to keep walking even though it hurts…Try sleeping with a pillow between your knees at night, this will relieve some of the pressure being put on that nerve. You can take tylenol for pain as needed if your doctor says it’s ok.

My mom had sciatica when she was pregnant and got a prenatal massage. Not all doctors recommend this so I would talk to your gyn about it, but it seemed to help her out a lot.
She continued to have sciatica after her pregnancy due to a back injury she sustained and they gave her cortizone (sp?) shots in her lower back….I don’t recommend that while you’re pregnant.

apparently siactica has nothing to do with pregnancy as i read on a website but weather it is true or not remains a different story.
i have found that a nice bubble bath helps or try getting your partner to rub your back, paracetamol may help but consult your Dr before taking any pain killers
hope it eases off as i know how pain full it can be as i was laid for three days with it
good luck x

You might consider finding a chiropractor they may be able to do an adjustment without fear for baby. Worth a try
