What should I do about a herniated disc?

I have recently had lower back pain and pain down my right leg. I went to my family doctor and she had me get an x ray and an MRI and found I had a herniated disc and gave me the number of a orthopedist to see about it. i made an appointment with the orthopedist but the earliest appointment isn’t until August 11th! I’m really worried about not getting better before school starts again, is there anything I can do in the mean time to help myself get better? Or am I stuck waiting til the 11th?

What should I do about a pinched nerve in my elbow?

My pinky on my left hand has been numb for about a week and when I rub a spot on my elbow it tingles, so I’m guessing it’s a pinched nerve.

I can’t afford a doctors visit though or I would go.

muscle relaxers for a herniated disc in the upper neck, can you tell me about them ?

My son in law is only 31 and has a herniated disc in his upper neck and he is in great pain. He has been told he can use muscle relaxants, are they are by prescription or are there any over the counter meds he can get ? He is seeing a chiropractor who said he could take them, but my son in law isn’t big into taking meds, but I thought if he took them, it might relax his neck and help him recover ? I’ve never had these issues ?
